1412: IARC’s RF Decision: The Inside Story
From Louis Slesin, Microwave News:
Just about every news outlet in the world reported this week
that an expert panel at the International Agency for Research
on Cancer (IARC) announced that long-term use of a cell phone
might lead to two different types of tumors, glioma, a type of
brain cancer, and acoustic neuroma, a tumor of the auditory nerve.
Now Microwave News brings you the inside story of what
happened at the meeting, much of which has yet to be told.
The decision to designate cell phone radiation a
“possible human carcinogen” was close to unanimous
–there were only two holdouts. One was from the
the U.S. National Cancer Institute.
