December 22, 2013 — (TRN http://www.TurnerRadioNetwork.com ) — As news has spread about the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan sailing into a plume of radiation, which Japan knew was emanating from the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster but did not disclose to the US Navy, a new revelation from that rescue mission is now stirring utter outrage: When the USS Ronald Reagan realized its on-board water desalinization system had been contaminated with radiation from the sea water it was drawing-in for the crew to drink, bathe in and cook with, the ship sought to dock in Japan to get things cleaned out and get help for the heavily contaminated crew. JAPAN REFUSED PERMISSION for the ship to dock saying it “was too radioactive.”
Speaking to the Ecological Options Network (EON) at an interview of USS Ronald Reagan sailors at the San Diego, CA Courthouse, Lindsay Cooper, USS Ronald Reagan crew member during the March, 2011 rescue operations in Japan said “You could tell the entire command was concerned because they were trying to do everything possible that they could to take care of us. We couldn”™t get any assistance from ships because ships weren”™t allowed to come in the area that weren”™t already exposed to radiation. No ports would let us in. Japan wouldn”™t let us in because we had too much radiation. Guam wouldn”™t let us in, Korea [too].
The EON video interview was with the lead plaintiffs and their lawyers in the sailor”™s lawsuit against the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). They”™re suing TEPCO for covering up the meltdowns and thereby exposing young US service people aboard the USS Reagan to horrendous amounts of radioactivity as they were providing humanitarian aide to Japanese victims of the tsunami and earthquake. They were aboard the USS Reagan aircraft carrier only a couple of miles offshore directly in the blowing airborne plume of high radioactivity while drinking and bathing in highly radioactive water taken-into the ship by its on-board desalinization system.
Cooper went on to say “It got to the point where the water”™s contaminated, we”™re going to have a lock down, we”™re going to go on the opposite side of Japan and try and get away over there. As soon as we got there, our water was still contaminated. So it was just where ever we went, it was an ongoing issue with radiation. We were being chased, literally, by a death sentence.”
